ALICE Conference
United Way of West Tennessee and the Tennessee Commission on Children & Youth are excited to host this community conference to foster discussion and determine solutions on how we can best serve those who are ALICE. The conference will consist of guest speakers, panel/table discussions, and relevant findings based on the latest ALICE Report for our region and state. Merch Day 2023
Jackson: Hidden Tracks encourages fans of local music to be a part of the inaugural Merch Day on November 10, 2022. This event was created to support local musicians by helping them gain additional exposure and revenue. On this day the community is encouraged to make a purchase from a local musician online or in person. Jackson: Hidden Tracks will be providing a comprehensive list of artists in the area with merchandise available, as well as an option to leave a “virtual tip” through the artist’s online payment services such as Venmo or CashApp. Jackson: Hidden Tracks is an initiative of Visit Jackson, Tennessee, created to identify the local music scene. Love with Nowhere to Go – A grief conference
Featuring an intimate time of discussion with our keynote speaker, Megan Devine. And three separate breakout sessions offered with local presenters sharing information on a variety of topics related to grief… forgiveness, support, finding peace, and grieving through various seasons of life. It all happens at First United Methodist Church in Downtown Jackson (200 S. Church Street) from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Cost is $25 for students and community and $40 for professionals for CEUs. Food Truck Fridays
Downtown Jackson and the West TN Farmers Market (91 New Market Street in Downtown Jackson) bring you Food Truck Fridays! Make plans to join them every Friday, May through November, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. to experience local eateries at lunch to end your work week and support local businesses.
Let It Glow light show kickoff
Join Discovery Park of America for the “Let it Glow” opening night. This event will include a kickoff ceremony at 6 p.m. featuring performances from the Jackson Symphony, the Voices of Union City Elementary student choir and a special appearance by Santa Claus. The kickoff ceremony is free for Discovery Park members and $5 for non-members. The “Let It Glow” Drive-thru and Walk-thru are open 5-9 p.m. from Friday, Nov. 10-Friday, Dec. 30, 2023. Both are closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Walk through – $5 per person (children 3 and younger are free), drive through is $10 per car and $50 per bus with 11 or more passengers.
Veteran Recognition Ceremony
The West Tennessee Coalition presents the 2023 Veterans Day Celebration at Englewood Baptist Church at 6:30 p.m. Guest speaker will be Captain Roy Cash with performances by Innovation Choir. This event is free and open to the public.
Nov. 11
Jackson Choral Society fall concert
The Jackson Choral Society’s 70+ voice choir will be performing songs that explore, ponder, and celebrate some of what “home” means to all of us. There will be a special tribute to our military veterans, as we honor their bravery and sacrifice. Tickets are $20. $15 for military veterans, active duty & reserve and students. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. and the concert will begin at 3 p.m. It all happens at First Baptist Church of Jackson (1627 North Highland Avenue).
Downtown Veterans’ Parade
The West Tennessee Veterans’ Coalition will host the Downtown Veterans’ Parade at 10 a.m. in Downtown Jackson, starting at the Carl Perkins Civic Center.
Marine Corps Birthday Ball
Come celebrate the 248th year of our beloved Marine Corps. The Ball is hosted by the Capt. Jack Holland Marine Corps League Detachment but you do not have to be a member to attend. All Marine and Navy personnel are welcome to attend. Tickets are $50 each. The night begins with social hour at 5 p.m. Dinner will begin at 6. There will be a photographer on hand for couples pictures. The speaker for the evening will be retired Major Ronald Chino, an AH-1W Super Cobra pilot. Followed by a cake cutting ceremony and the evening will end with dancing the night away. MCL formal, MCL undress, Dress Blues, civilian formal and cocktail attire preferred.
The Charity Gala
The Charity Gala is the largest fundraiser hosted by The Foundation and raises funds to support critical community initiatives, like the organization’s annual Community Impact Grants. The black and white affair will feature a cocktail hour, silent auction, seated dinner, award presentations, and live entertainment. The Foundation is excited to welcome back Caleb Minter and the Structure Band as the evening’s entertainment. The Foundation will recognize nine individuals who made an impact on Jackson during the award presentations at the event. This year’s recipients are:

Hub City Fight Night

The Medina Lions Club is hosting comedian Jeff Allen for two fantastic shows, 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Journey Church in Three Way. Jeff Allen is in his fifth decade as a working comedian. You may have seen him on America’s Got Talent, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Huckabee, Pureflix, Warner Bros., Comedy Central, VH-1, Showtime, TBN, CBN, Family Net and numerous other television networks. He can be heard regularly on SiriusXM’s comedy channels, also Pandora and Spotify. He has performed for our troops on aircraft carriers and ships in the Indian Ocean. Holiday Mart
Hundreds of vendors will be present selling apparel, home decor, food, art, etc. It truly is the best of the best and can be your one-stop shop for your entire Christmas list. The 2023 Holiday Mart will open with a Preview Party on Thursday, November 16, 2023, and it will be open to the public on November 17-19, 2023. This multi-day merchandise mart features gifts, clothing and accessories, holiday and home decorative items, and much more. It all happens at the Carl Perkins Civic Center (400 South Highland Avenue in Downtown Jackson) from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and noon until 4 p.m. on Sunday.
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

2023 Amaryllis Sale
UT Gardens, Jackson, is hosting their annual amaryllis sale on Nov. 16 from noon until 6 p.m. at the West Tennessee AgResearch and Education Center (605 Airways Boulevard). Shipped from Holland, there are over 25 different types of amaryllis that make an excellent addition for your home or to be shared with others as gifts this holiday season. Terracotta pots, potting soil, conifers, spider lilies and other plants from the fall plant sale will also be available for purchase. Bulbs are $22 each, including tax. Members of UT Gardens are invited to a presale on Nov. 15 from noon until 3 p.m. Not a member? You can become one at the sale and shop early.

West Tennessee Farm Toy Show
Come out to Jackson Fairgrounds (800 South Highland Avenue) and see vintage farm toys, memorabilia, newly released farm toys and vendors from over six states — just in time for Christmas. Entertainment will be provided by Robert Denson, Jr. & RC Pullers, demonstrating the custom built radio operated trucks and construction toys and some new items. There will also be farm layout displays and some lawn and garden items. Admission is $5 with children 7 and younger getting in for free. F.C.E. Christmas Cottage
The Madison County F.C.E. An Evening with TG Sheppard
A concert benefiting the Gibson County Carl Perkins Center will happen at the historic Ned McWherter theater in Downtown Jackson (314 East Main Street), featuring one of Billboard’s “Greatest of All Time Top Country Music Artists,” TG Sheppard. With 21 #1 hits, he is one of the most popular live performers in country music today. Opening for TG Sheppard will be local favorite and rising artist, Emily McGill. Both are West Tennessee natives from Humboldt. All proceeds to benefit the Gibson County Carl Perkins Center.

JJ’s Arm Drop at Jackson Dragway
Come see the baddest street racers in the county, small tire $5,000 to win with free race entry and daily driver $500 to win with free race entry for all pre-registered. JJ DaBoss #StreetRacer events are real street racers that are kid and fan friendly. Kids 12 and under are free. Bring the family out to meet JJ, Tricia, Precious, Shelby Lynn – “DaBaby” and Big Berta, and more Street Outlaws along with the fastest racers from around the country who will compete for big money. Gates open at 9 a.m. at Jackson Dragway (79 Ranger Road in Jackson). Races begin at noon.
High Road at The Dixie
The Dixie Carter Performing Arts Center on the town square in Huntingdon will host a concert featuring the gospel Bluegrass band, High Road. The band features an array of female musicians and singers that each bring their unique sound and experience to the band for a perfect harmony for their performances. The concert starts at 3 p.m. with prices listed at $15, $20, $25 and $30. They’re available online at dixiepac.net.
