In the bustling heart of Jackson, Tennessee, a new beacon of connectivity has emerged. Device Repair, nestled at 1298 N. Highland Ave., Ste. 8, is more than just a repair shop – it’s a hub for community engagement and technological empowerment.

Owner and entrepreneur, David Boyd, has a vision for Device Repair that extends far beyond fixing broken screens and malfunctioning gadgets. It’s about fostering a sense of connection within Jackson’s vibrant community and empowering residents to stay plugged in to what matters most.

When asked what inspired him to open up his business, Device Repair, Boyd said, “I have done phone and computer repair for years; and felt that there were limited options for repair in Jackson, particularly in midtown, downtown, and south Jackson. The bottom line was that I knew I could offer affordable and reliable repairs to customers without compromising quality.”

Device Repair isn’t just about transactions; it’s about relationships. Boyd’s commitment to the local community shines through initiatives like sponsoring the groundbreaking “Bring Your Own Bit” open-mic, stand-up comedy show at 731 Comedy Club. It was the first of its kind at the comedy club and drew one of the Club’s biggest crowds. By supporting local talent and fostering a burgeoning comedy scene, Device Repair is helping to put Jackson on the map as a premier destination for laughter and entertainment.

While Boyd remains steadfast in his commitment to providing quality repairs at fair prices, he also has his sights set on the future. With aspirations to relocate to a downtown location in the coming year, Device Repair aims to be at the forefront of Jackson’s downtown revitalization efforts. By anchoring itself in the heart of the city, Device Repair hopes to play a pivotal role in shaping Jackson’s economic and cultural landscape for years to come.

In addition to device-repair services, Boyd’s business also offers 3D printing services and video editing.

“Almost anything that can be repaired on a phone is within our purview. Similarly with computers, we offer a full range of services; such as virus clean-up, drive replacements, laptop screen repairs, motherboard replacements, and generally fixing nearly anything that can malfunction on a computer. This location is also equipped to offer services on tablets, video game consoles, and miscellaneous electronic devices,” Boyd shared.

“We use the same industry-leading supplier of aftermarket parts as competitors, but offer reliable repair at a more affordable price point,” the owner added.

For Boyd, the most important lesson learned from running Device Repair is simple yet profound: community is key. Without the support and connections forged within Jackson, none of this would be possible. While Device Repair may currently be a one-person operation, David Boyd is quick to acknowledge the invaluable contributions of the community at large.

While he has hopes to relocate to downtown Jackson, Boyd credited his current commercial space owner, Charli Manstien, who worked with him to secure an appropriate space on North Highland Avenue.

Whether your smartphone needs a new screen, or your laptop is on the fritz, Device Repair is here to help. Customer service is at the epicenter of Boyd’s business.

“Broken phones and malfunctioning computers are an inevitable fact of life in the modern world. And they hamper productivity when the thing that connects you to your community, to your business, to your customers isn’t working properly. If I can get you connected again more quickly and affordably, that reduces your downtime and keeps more money in your pocket,” he said.

Located at 1298 N. Highland Ave, Ste 8, Device Repair is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For inquiries or to schedule a repair, call 731-215-0029 and get connected today.

In a world where connectivity is everything, Device Repair is bridging the gap, one fix at a time.
