Funeral services for Ms. Nevaeh Elizabeth Ballard, age 19, will be held at 2pm Sunday, May 5, 2024 at Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home. A visitation with the family will be held from 12pm-2pm before the service.
Nevaeh departed this life on April 28, 2024. She was born on June 9, 2004 in Knoxville, TN. She is survived by her parents, Sarah York and Sergio Silva, Jr; step father, Jason Cruz; grandparents, James and Bobbie York, Pete and Pam Waites, Sergio Sr. and Denise Silva; great grandparents, Peggy and Charles Tilbury, Barbara Boswell; brothers, Chance Ballard, Jayden Whitt, Nolan Silva; sister, Hannah Ballard; uncles, James York (Lori Dunaway), Michael York (Torrie), William Waites (Amanda), James Waites (Nicole); aunt, Brook Silva; cousins, Madison York, Taylor Dunaway, Kailyn Roach, Alexia York, Brooklyn York, Makenzie Waites, and Makaylee Waites.
Nevaeh’s family would like to speak the truth about her death. Silence would mean Nevaeh’s death was in vain, but if one person’s life is saved by her story we would tell it a million times over. We know the pain of her suffering, we know the pain of our own suffering, and we know there are hundreds of people in the community suffering as addicts or as loved ones of those addicts. To speak the truth no matter what the circumstances surrounding the epidemic of drug use may be the difference between life and death for someone else’s child! In honor of Nevaeh’s life we ask the truth be spread concerning this epidemic and awareness is raised.
