1957 — 2024
Sharon Kay Gower, known affectionately as Kay, was a compassionate soul whose life was dedicated to helping others in various ways. She departed this life peacefully on April 10, 2024, at the age of 67. She was born on January 13, 1957, to Rex and Beverly Dorrough.
One of Kay’s greatest passions was her love for animals. She poured her heart into volunteering at the humane society, where she spent countless hours caring for furry friends in need. Her compassion knew no bounds as she even opened her home to several four-legged companions, despite any objections from her husband.
A graduate of Union University with a bachelor’s degree, Kay was not only intelligent but also introspective.
In her later years, she found solace in the pages of books, building a vast collection that reflected her curious mind and thirst for knowledge.
Kay’s family was the pride and joy of her life. She cherished her loving husband and held her two sons dear to her heart. Her three grandchildren brought immense happiness and fulfillment to her days.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Steve Gower; two sons, Ben Gower and Brett Gower (Whitney); grandchildren, Grayson Gower, Nathan Gower, and Abby Gower; mother, Beverly Dorrough; and brother, Ronnie Dorrough (Marcy).
She was preceded in death by her father, Rex Dorrough.
