First Friday Art Walk returns to Downtown Jackson

Posted

The Jackson Arts Council’s First Friday Art Walk returned to Downtown Jackson earlier this month. The event was the first of three First Friday Art Walks that will take place this autumn on the first Fridays of September, October, and November.

The anticipated community event took place in front of the businesses at the Jackson Walk Plaza and the Local and featured artist setups of various mediums such as painting, crochet and photography. Attendees were also able to enjoy music performances from local music favorites such as Hunter Cross, Rita Perry and more while perusing the booths of the many art and culture vendors.

The First Friday Art Walk is an opportunity for the Jackson Arts Council Artist Members to showcase their work during the months of April through November. The organization encourages artists of all skills and ages to join the Jackson Arts Council as Artist Members in order to be able to participate in the events each month and be a part of the growing art scene here in Jackson, Tennessee.

The monthly event is hosted during the evening in various areas around Downtown Jackson. A full schedule, map of events and details for the remaining First Friday Art Walks can be located on the Jackson Arts Council website at www.731arts.com/first-friday-art-walk.
