Jackson Symphony League

Join The Jackson Symphony League at Jackson Country Club (85 Jackson Country Club Dr.) to hear about all the programs and upcoming events of The Jackson Symphony League. Patrons’ Party

This year’s Patrons’ Party, presented by C.O.R.P. (Shirlene Mercer Foundation) and Prosper, will serve as the kickoff event for the 33rd Annual Charity on November 9, 2024. At the event, the Tigrett Award, May and Dr. Barnett Scott Service Award, and Jackson Awards recipients will be announced. It is a night to thank the sponsors of The Charity Gala for their support of the Community Foundation’s work in West Tennessee. At the home of Caroline and Jeb Campbell. AMP at The Market

Do you hear it? Only the music of Jackson and West Tennessee could connect Memphis’ Beale Street and Nashville’s Music Row. Join us as we celebrate the rich musical legacy of our region with the 2024 season of Jackson’s Award Winning music venue Jackson‘s Amphitheater at the Market (AMP). The 10th season of concerts continues on Friday with LOLO in concert starting at 7:30 p.m. So bring your lawn chairs or blankets and have a good time listening to good music.

Sept. 21

Jackson International Arts & Food Festival

The 10th edition of the Jackson International Food & Arts Festival will happen at the Jackson Fairgrounds from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. There will be food, vendors, and different displays representing different cultures from around the world. Along with the Parade of Cultures, there will be a concert with an Abba tribute band starting at 4:30 p.m. and acrobatic performances throughout the day. Buses will shuttle festival goers to and from the parking lot of the Carl Perkins Civic Center beginning at 9:30 a.m. until 7 p.m.

Voices in the Vineyard

Century Farm Winery (1548 Lower Brownsville Rd.) will host its next Voices in the Vineyard free concert featuring Dirt Pilgrims on at 7 p.m. Come enjoy an unforgettable evening of live music, wine, and bites from TeTes Food Wagon and 901 Eats and Treats. Shenandoah concert

Shenandoah, a country music group based in Muscle Shoals, Ala., that was one of the biggest bands of the 1990s, will bring their sound to Williams Auditorium (634 East Main Street in Henderson) for a concert beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at williamsauditorium.com.

Tribute to Legends concert

The Jazz Foundation of West Tennessee presents a tribute to legends Sarah Vaughn and John Coltrane at 7 p.m., at the Ned R. McWherter Cultural Arts Center (314 East Main Street in Downtown Jackson). The concert features vocalist Jamille "Jam" Hunter and saxophonist Don Aliquo. Hunter will perform from her CD "Sassy Returns" a tribute to Sarah Vaughn, and Aliquo will play John Coltrane 1961, a year that was instrumental in the development of the now icon jazz musician.

Tee-Up for Autism

West Tennessee Hearing and Speech Center will hosts its annual golf tournament that was rescheduled from Sept. 12. The tournament is at Humboldt Country Club with lunch at 11:30 a.m. and shotgun start at 1 p.m.  For more info call their office at 731-668-6076 or email at rmaxwell@wthsc.com.

Rock and Roll Cornhole

Madison County CASA will host its annual cornhole tournament at the West Tennessee Farmers’ Market (91 New Market Street in Downtown Jackson). The event is sponsored by Tennessee Industrial Printing Services and begins at 6 p.m.

Sept. 27

Kids and Family Resource Fair

North Park (210 Demonbreun Drive in North Jackson) will be the site of the 2024 Kids and Family Resource Fair presented by Tennessee Department of Human Services from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Parents and children are invited to discover health, wellness, safety and other social supports and information at the Family Resource Fair hosted by the Paternity Program at the Tennessee Department of Human Services (TDHS).

This free event is open to the public and will include baby supplies and door prizes give aways from non-profits and agencies that serve families (while supplies last).

About the Paternity Program at the Tennessee Department of Human Services:
The Paternity Program at the TDHS helps parents secure their children’s futures by establishing paternity. This step enables children to qualify for social security, veterans’ benefits, inheritance rights, life and health insurance, Child Support, and other assistance based on parental relationships.

Clark Shaw Memorial Prayer Walk

The fourth annual prayer walk presented by Casey Jones’ Village, Old Country Store and Pastor Garry Martin will happen at Home Outlet (756 Old Hickory Boulevard in Midtown Jackson) at 8:30 a.m.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s

Alzheimer's isn't stopping. Neither is Jackson. Fall Game Festival

Canada’s Collectible Games (33 carriage House Drive Suite B) is having an outside Fall Game festival. They will have games, food trucks, content creators, contests, Pikachu and prizes. Games include Giant Catan, Giant Chess, Giant Checkers and more. There will be pictures with Pikachu, a kids Pokémon costume contest, and a Cosplay contest to name a few. Don’t miss out on all this fun that lasts from noon until 5 p.m.

Tracy Lawrence concert

Tracy Lawrence was one of the biggest names in country music in the 1990s. With hits like “Alibis,” “Time Marches On” and “These Sticks and Stones,” fans are sure to have a memorable night singing along with his standard songs. Tickets are available online at Ticketmaster. Event starts at 7 p.m.
