Charlie R. Roby, a beloved figure in the community and a dedicated professional, passed away peacefully at his residence in Jackson, on Friday, Sept. 6, 2024, at the age of 67, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on Aug. 11, 1957, in Tiptonville, the son of the late Manson and Evelyn Stewart Roby. He was a graduate of Chester County High School, where he was an All-American Football Player. His passion and commitment to sports extended beyond athletics; he was a lifetime member of the Chester County Quarterback Club and an active member of the FFA.
Charlie's professional journey as a Construction Estimator with Campbell Backhoe and Dozer was marked by his strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of the construction industry.
Charlie is survived by his beloved wife, Sherry Roby; son, Randall Roby; daughter, MaryJane Parker; grandson, Hayden Parker; and mother-in-law, Jane Campbell.
Along with his parents He was preceded in death by his son, Rance Roby in 2009.
A funeral service was held on Monday, Sept. 9, 2024, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors. There was a private family committal service on Tuesday, Sept. 10.
