Three Madison County high school football teams played this week - all of them on the road with mixed results.
University School of Jackson returned to its winning ways, outscoring Evangelical Christian School 49-35 to also get the Bruins' second win in region play.
Running back Noah Spencer turned in his typical performance with 224 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 18 carries.
Quarterback Corben Howard had a rushing touchdown as well while carrying the ball eight times for 42 yards. He also completed 22 of 31 passes for 332 yards and a pair of scores.
Those touchdown passes went to Mills Terry and Miles Morton. Terry's score was his only reception, which was good for 40 yards. Morton finished with five receptions for 108 yards.
Alex Wallace led the Bruins defensively with nine tackles. Drew English had eight with a fumble recovery, and Spencer helped out on defense with four tackles and an interception.

Huntingdon 21, Jackson Central-Merry 7: The two-headed monster that is the rushing game with Brady Warbritton and Gray Eubanks from Huntingdon was too much for the Cougars as the Mustangs went up 14-0 in the first half and added another score to it early in the fourth quarter.
The Cougars got on the board with about five minutes remaining in the game when Terell Williams connected with Michael Massey for a 46-yard touchdown pass.
The Cougars were able to get the ball back one more time but couldn't get it into the end zone to cut into the lead even more late.

Covington 60, Liberty 6: The Chargers remained undefeated as they ran away from the Crusaders for the dominant victory.
