Reverend Travis Edgar Grimsley, left his earthly home and entered his heavenly home on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at the age of 77.
Born on May 27, 1945 in Scotts Hill, TN, he was the son of the late E.J. and Irona Grimsley. He later met and married the love of his life, Cynthia Pierce, who this year celebrated 51 years of marriage.


Reverend Grimsley pastored for over thirty years and helped build New Life United Pentecostal Church in Jackson, TN. Before becoming a pastor, he worked at Conalco and also worked independently for several years as a master electrician. He proudly served in the National Guard. The last two decades of his life was dedicated to building and maintaining Lake Benson Christian Camp, cultivating relationships with children and youth who spent their summers there.


He was on the UPC National Board for Children’s Ministry for twenty years and served as a Tennessee UPC Minister of Comfort, assisting in ministers’ funerals across the state. His legacy will be his faithful devotion to his church, family, and friends, and the immense kindness and generosity he had for others.
Left to mourn his passing and cherish his memories are his loving wife, Cynthia; son, Gregory Grimsley and wife Rene of Burns, TN; brother, Jerry Grimsley (Pat) of Jackson, TN, and grandchildren, Millicent, Miles and Mason Grimsley.
