The Soul Collective hosts third annual Royal Reclamation event

The Soul Collective hosted the third annual Royal Reclamation event inside Crystal’s Zen and Juice at Jaxon Station on July 20. The celebration featured live music from local musician Stedman Roebuck and his band under the name Rock1 Ent. The evening served as an opportunity for Jacksonians to celebrate the culture, art, and entrepreneurship of the Black-owned businesses at the Soul Collective.

The event was free and open to the public to attend. Despite it taking place outdoors in the area surrounding the Jaxon Station in previous years, the evening was moved indoors for a more intimate feeling. This year’s Royal Reclamation also served as an opportunity for attendees to donate to the Soul Collective. The funds that were raised went directly to funding events and programs of the Soul Collective brand.

The celebration marked the third year since the opening of the Soul Collective in July of 2022 at the historic Jaxon Station train depot. Founded by local photographer and business coach Trunetta Atwater, the Soul Collective has hosted a number of community events, workshops, classes, and camps. The organization seeks to empower Black and minority-owned businesses by equipping them with the tools they need to thrive within the entrepreneurial scene here in Jackson and beyond. The Soul Collective is currently home to Crystal’s Zen and Juice, Trunetta Atwater Photography, The Math Success Coach, and House of Dominion.
