TCA wins big on the road; JCM, Liberty fall hard

Posted

Trinity Christian (5-2) made quick work of Greenfield and came away with a non-region win.

“I thought the defense did well,” said TCA head coach Darren Bowling after his team picked up the shutout. “There were some bright spots. We had a couple of turnovers, and we had two picks and a fumble recovery, so those always help out.

“I thought we played physical inside on defense and just an all-around good game. We played well and took care of business.”

Bowling was complimentary of the offense as well.

“Brayden [Waller] had a good night,” Bowling said. “He didn’t have a lot of touches, but he scored from the first time he touched it on multiple drives.”

Bowling was also proud of the way the quarterback, Cooper Vailes played.

“He ran the ball well and made a lot of good decisions,” Bowling said.

The Lions will be on the road again next week, this time playing in a region game at First Assembly Christian School.

Huntingdon 41, Jackson Central-Merry 6

The Cougars hosted the Mustangs at North Side but had a hard time stopping their ground game and couldn’t put a lot of points on the board.

Covington 70, Liberty 12

For the second game in a row, the Crusaders scored more than once, but the defense couldn’t stop the Chargers.
