Stroup leaving USJ for Gallatin

Posted

University School of Jackson football coach Michael Stroup told his team on Wednesday morning he’s resigning his position.

Stroup, who’s been at USJ for the past six seasons, is taking the head coaching position at Gallatin in Middle Tennessee.

Stroup took over at USJ in 2017 after leaving Scotts Hill, leading the Lions to their only appearance in school history in the state quarterfinals.

He continued the Bruins’ tradition of success by leading them to at least the Division II-A semifinals with two appearances in the state championship.
