The Tennessee Titans and the TSSAA announced their finalists for Mr. Football awards Tuesday night, and two Madison Countians were among the 30 honored on the list.
Jay’Len Mosley, the four-star wide receiver from Jackson Christian, is a finalist for Division II-A Mr. Football, the award he won last year.
Noah Spencer, the running back from University School of Jackson, was named one of the final three finalists in Division II-AA.
Mosley finished the regular season with 893 receiving yards on 49 catches and 15 touchdowns. Along with that, he carried the ball nine times for 36 yards and a rushing touchdown.
Spencer finished the regular season with 1,862 yards and 26 touchdowns on 183 carries. He also led the team in receiving yards with 480 and five touchdowns on 29 receptions. He threw three passes, completed all of them for 18 yards. On defense, he had 26 tackles, three for loss with a sack. He intercepted two passes and returned them for 55 yards, and he returned one punt for 42 yards. His 186 total points, coming from his 31 touchdowns, made up 62 percent of the total points USJ has scored in the regular season.
Both the Eagles and Bruins won their respective region championships.
