Ronald McDonald House raises over $1 million

Posted

Ronald McDonald House announced last week the success of its recent Heart of the House match week, raising a total of $1,003,091.78 to help support families being served at the Memphis house, and soon to be staying at Ronald McDonald House in Jackson.

The Week of Giving ran from Nov. 3-7, where every donation was matched dollar-for-dollar, with no limits.  These donations will help keep families close to the care their children need.

Ronald McDonald House Executive Director Jill Crocker was appreciative,

“Once again, our community came through for our families and our mission to keep families near the care they need with their loved ones,” Crocker said. ”I am thrilled with the continued show of support, especially since the Week of Giving is the largest fundraiser for the year and will help to sustain our continued geographic growth and budget needs for next year.

“Thank you to everyone who helped us reach and break a new record.  I am looking forward to our continued service in Memphis and our new home in Jackson, TN.”

The funds raised during this year’s Heart of the House Match week will help support Ronald McDonald House programs in both Memphis and Jackson. The mission is to continue to keep children near the care they need with the families they love.

Ronald McDonald House is anticipating the opening of its new program in Jackson.  It will provide support for up to 20 families whose children are receiving care from Le Bonheur Children’s and Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.  The Ronald McDonald House Jackson will be located in the Hyatt Hotel, which is set to open its doors this December.
