Ronald Aaron Murphy, known affectionately as Ronnie, died March 9, 2024 in Jackson.
Ronnie was born on January 26, 1950 in Jackson to the late James Raymond Murphy and Edith Marie Bell Murphy. He was educated in the city schools and studied at Jackson State for two years. He was a movie projector by trade. In his later years he loved watching television, especially WWE Wrestling, General Hospital, and The Walking Dead.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Murphy; and his nephew, James Driver.
He is survived by his sister, Evella Murphy Newcomb; his nephew, Jeremy Driver; and his nieces, Angel Herndon and Angela Newcomb.
He is also survived by his great nephew, Kyle Driver; and Kyle’s mother, Carolyn Driver, who was his longtime caregiver and whom Ronnie thought of as his niece as well. He is also survived by his caregiver, Patty Edington, Carolyn's mother.
Ronnie will be laid to rest with his parents at Ridgecrest Cemetery at a later date.
