Roberta Crow Price, 86, of Jackson, Tenn., passed away peacefully on Sept. 2, 2024. Born on Oct. 16, 1937, in Memphis, Tenn., Roberta was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many.

After growing up in Marked Tree, Ark., Roberta moved to Jackson with Jim, her favorite travel companion. She was a beloved homemaker and an active member of First United Methodist Church. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, and she found joy in her church community. Roberta had a passion for gardening, especially for growing orchids in her greenhouse, where she spent countless hours nurturing her beautiful gardens. Her cooking is known throughout the community.  Her love of cooking was inspired by the original PBS Julia Child program.  And what joy she experienced making, hosting, and gathering around the table with friends and family. Roberta was instrumental in the founding of Old Hickory Academy, a 1st-12th grade school, which was later merged with Episcopal Day School and renamed University School of Jackson.

She is survived by her loving husband, Dr. Jim Price, with whom she shared over 66 wonderful years of marriage. Roberta also leaves behind her two sons, Rob Price (Lisa) and Jay Price (Kecia); and five cherished grandchildren, Brandon Price, Thomas McKnight, Cody Price (Shaughnessy), Kate Orr (Sean), and Price McKnight (Emilee), who will carry forward her legacy of love and care. Roberta was preceded in death by her parents, Mack and Roberta Crow; her beloved daughter, Catherine Price McKnight; and her brother, Mack Crow, Jr.

Roberta Crow Price will be remembered for her warm heart, her love for her family, and her green thumb that brought life and beauty to her home. She touched many lives with her kindness and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

The family will have a private graveside service and invite you to the memorial service that will be held at her home church of First United Methodist Church, Jackson on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 2 p.m. with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Aspell Recovery Center (110 McCowat Jackson, TN 38301), First United Methodist Church Altar Guild (200 S Church Street, Jackson, TN 38301), or the charity of your choice.
