Registration, volunteer opportunities open for State Games

Posted

Registration is open for the 2026 State Games of Tennessee, an  Olympic-style, multi-sport event that will bring athletes from across the state to Jackson for several  weekends of competition and community celebration. Event dates include May 30, June 5–7, June 12– 14, and June 20, 2026.

Hosted in Jackson, the State Games of Tennessee offers opportunities for all ages and skill levels to  compete in a wide range of sports. From youth athletes to adults, participants can experience the  excitement of statewide competition while connecting with others who share a passion for sports and  healthy living.

The 2026 Games will feature an expanded lineup of events, including cycling, disc golf, eGames,  mahjong, table tennis, ultimate, youth baseball and softball, youth tennis, pickleball, volleyball,  basketball, cornhole, and running events such as the 5K road race and trail run.

Participants will compete for gold, silver, and bronze medals, and in select sports, winners will qualify  for the State Games of America, providing a pathway to national competition.

The community is also invited to attend the Opening Ceremony on June 5, which is free and open to  the public. The ceremony will feature a Parade of Athletes, lighting of the cauldron, and a celebration  to officially kick off the Games.

In addition to athletes, organizers are seeking volunteers to help bring the event to life. Volunteers play  a critical role in the success of the Games, assisting with registration, event operations, athlete  support, and more. Individuals ages 16 and older are encouraged to sign up.

“The State Games of Tennessee continues to grow as a signature event for our community,” said  organizers. “We invite athletes, families, and volunteers to be part of this exciting tradition as we build  something that will have a lasting impact for years to come.”

The State Games of Tennessee is part of a national network of State Games, modeled after the  Olympic Games, and is designed to promote fitness, sportsmanship, and community engagement  through friendly competition.
