In loving memory of Regina Smith, mother, grandmother, sister, wife, and friend. Regina passed away peacefully with her companion, Billy, and son, Michael, by her side at her residence in Jackson, Tenn., on March 26, 2024, at the age of 67.
She was born on May 31, 1956, in Jackson, Tenn., the daughter of the late Dennis Earl and Dorothy Reasons Thompson.
Regina was a dedicated transcriptionist at the Cancer Care Center of Jackson before retiring. She was known for her unwavering faith as a strong Christian and being an active member of Gregory's Chapel Assembly of God. Regina's love for music shone through as she played the piano for The Joylanders. Her commitment to family was unparalleled as she never missed a baseball game when her son played travel ball.
One of Regina's greatest joys was being a grandmother to Ella Kay Smith and Rhett Walker Smith. She found solace in Gospel music and delighted in beach trips. Regina had a passion for exploring new places during weekend road trips, always on the lookout for delicious catfish dinners.
Regina will be dearly missed by her surviving family: son, Michael Smith and wife Allison of Medina, Tenn.; brother, James E. Thompson; grandchildren Ella Kay Smith and Rhett Walker Smith; nephews, Kami Thompson, Kyler Thompson, Kodie Thompson, Kasey Thompson, and niece Cynthia Kirkpatrick (David); great-nephew Brock; great-niece Leighton; and life companion, Billy, along with numerous other relatives and friends.
Along with her parents Regina was preceded in death by her beloved husband William "Frosty" Smith and her sister, Janet Shoemake.
A Celebration honoring Regina's life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2024, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Jessica McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the visitation on March 29, 2024, beginning at 12 p.m. and continuing until to 2 p.m. at Arrington Funeral Directors.
Pallbearers serving will be Michael Smith, Jimmy Thompson, Kyler Thompson, Alan Ewell, John Webb, and Kevin Todd.
