November 18, 1969 — April 22, 2024
Mary Frances Prest was born on November 18, 1969. Mary’s earthly journey ended on April 22, 2024.
Mary joined her St. John’s Community Service in 2006. In the absence of her Biological family, SJCS became her family and remained until her untimely death.
Mary knew and loved the Lord. If Mary knew you weren’t feeling well, She often ask, if she could pray? And would ask you to bow your head.
In Mary’s earlier time after joining SJCS, Mary worked at Arby’s as a Silverware Captain, where she enjoyed cleaning the dining room and greeting the customers.
Mary was unique in her own way. Mary knew what she liked and what she didn’t like. Mary didn’t mind letting others know, and a lot of times, it was nonnegotiable. Her favorite saying was ”that’s in the past!” Although, she had her unique way of dealing with situations, she loved people. She loved to talk and demanded attention. She called herself the “Queen Bee”.
Mary loved going out on outings. Her favorites were shopping and out to eat. She loved greeting visitors at her home. She loved choosing her attire and her favorite food was Mac-n-Cheese. Mary’s favorite color was Purple.
Mary had routines that she chose to follow on a daily basis and was very important to her. Those were her 6:30pm phone calls to former staff (Katina and Shae) that she maintained contact with. She was very fond of Katina and her family. Mary also enjoyed talking with her friend, Judy, and looked forward to the nightly calls.
Mary loved her housemate and often looked out for her. Mary didn’t mind asking staff, if her housemate has had her medications and did she eat all her food? Mary and her housemate got along great, and in the mornings, they loved greeting each other.
Mary had a strong compassion and love for her Residential Team Leader, Valerie Calhoun. When Valerie, wasn’t in the home, Mary still wanted to keep tabs on her as she often demanded staff to call Val. Mary also had a special compassion for Catina Crisp, who worked with her for years. Although, she had an admiration for Colette, She loved aggravating Debra, and would often say, “That Boss Lady”.
Those left to cherish Mary's memory and supported her in living her best life is her SJCS family. Mary also leaves Angela, Kendria and Charlene, who also provided supports.
