Man wanted in connection to Rodeway Inn homicide captured in Louisiana

Charles Wilson, 31, who was wanted for murder in Jackson, Tenn., was captured in Opelousas, La., last week by the U.S. Marshals, according to a release sent out by the federal agency.

According to the release, on October 31, 2022, the Jackson Police Dept. responded to the Rodeway Inn at 2239 Hollywood Drive. A man was found laying at the bottom of the stairwell with a gunshot wound. He was determined to be deceased.

Wilson is charged with First-Degree Murder and Attempted Especially Aggravated Robbery. The release says he was safely taken into custody on Jan. 13 by the U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force in Jackson and Deputy Marshals in the Western District of Louisiana in Opelousas, La. Wilson will be extradited back to Tennessee to face charges.
