Logo revealed for inaugural Tennessee State Games

The inaugural Tennessee State Games are coming to Madison County in June of 2025, and the campaign toward that event officially started last week.

Local leaders and those connected with the State Games were on hand at The Greater Jackson Chamber on Thursday to celebrate the revelation of the State Games logo.

Stephanie Riley of B3 Creative and her crew were the ones charged with determining what the logo for the inaugural games would look like.

“A lot of representation and symbolism typically goes into a logo like this, and we’re no different,” Riley told the gathering of about 75 people on the morning of Thursday, Aug. 22.

She mentioned the torch because the State Games are designed in the same way the Olympics are, as these games will be a series of competitions among amateur athletes.

The three lines at the bottom of the logo represent two things: the three grand divisions of the state and how all roads in amateur competition lead to Jackson and Madison County.

There’s a red circle around the edge of the logo that is meant to represent Madison County being surrounded by the Golden Circle and everyone coming together in Jackson in the spirit of competition.

Both Mayors – Jackson’s Scott Conger and Madison County’s A.J. Massey – were on hand to celebrate the logo as well as to tout how improvements on both City and County parks has begun with the State Games being the main motivation for those improvements.

“As we introduce this logo, we look forward to an unforgettable inaugural season of the State Games of Tennessee in 2025,” Conger said. “We are honored to support the State Games of Tennessee and look forward to the exciting competition that will take place in our community.”

The State Games are slated for the first two weekends in June with 15 sports being contested including softball, baseball, basketball, soccer, pickleball, disc golf, wedge golf, cross country, trail run and tennis.

“The State Games of Tennessee are set to become a beloved tradition, bringing together athletes of all ages from across our great state,” Massey said. “The Games will create a strong sense of pride within our community as we come together to celebrate athletic achievement and the spirit of competition.”

Lindsay Dawkins, the chief of staff at The Chamber and one of the two main coordinators of the State Games with West Tennessee Healthcare Sportsplex’s Ryan Blake, said the logo revelation is the kickoff for the marketing to let the rest of the state know about the games.

“We’ve been planning our marketing and recruitment for competitors in each sport, and this revelation today is the kickoff for that,” Dawkins said. “And we’ve got a marketing strategy to reach athletes and weekend warriors and other amateur athletes who might want to try to come win a state championship and qualify to possibly represent Tennessee in the national games in 2026 in Pennsylvania.”
