Leslie Brasfield Forbes, age 52, passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday afternoon, July 5, 2024. Born on Sunday, July 25, 1971, in Jackson, TN, she was the daughter of Ken and Sandra Brasfield. Leslie's life was a testament to love, laughter, and unwavering strength.
Leslie's love for her children knew no bounds; it was evident in every conversation where she joyfully spoke about them. She had the best laugh which was contagious to those around her, and her kind nature shone through her desire never to hurt anyone's feelings. Leslie was always the first to cheer on her friends, demonstrating the biggest heart one could possess. During her life and especially in the final months, she exhibited incredible strength and bravery that inspired all who knew her.
After graduating from North Side High School, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Memphis, where she later became a registered nurse.
Leslie loved to watch movies while enjoying popcorn. Whenever a new movie was released at the theatre, she and her son, Mitch, were always there. Her passion for sports, particularly basketball, was undeniable—she played in high school and enthusiastically supported her daughter's collegiate basketball journey at Christian Brothers University, never missing a game.
She will be missed by her loving parents, Ken and Sandra Brasfield of Jackson, TN; her children, Rachel Lee, of Memphis, TN, and Mitch Forbes of Jackson, TN; brothers, Reed Brasfield (Michelle), and Jeff Brasfield (Emily), plus a host of relatives and friends.
SERVICES: Leslie’s Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. John White and Dr. David Comperry officiating. A reception will follow in Memorial Hall. A private family burial will take place at Ridgecrest Cemetery.
