JTG presenting ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ next month

Jackson Theatre Guild presents Broadway classic “Fiddler on the Roof” July 10–18 at The NED R. McWherter West Tennessee Cultural Arts Center in Downtown Jackson.

Set in the small village of Anatevka, Fiddler on the Roof follows Tevye, a hardworking dairyman, as he struggles to balance cherished traditions with a rapidly changing world. Filled with unforgettable music, humor, heart, and timeless themes of family, faith, and community, the Tony Award-winning musical has captivated audiences for generations.

This production features Billy Worboys as Tevye alongside an exceptional cast of performers from Jackson and surrounding West Tennessee communities. Directed by Brandon Kelly and Lindsay Kelly, with choreography by Renée Brooks, the production brings together talented artists from across the region to tell one of musical theatre’s most cherished stories.

More than six decades after its Broadway debut, Fiddler on the Roof continues to resonate with audiences through its powerful exploration of family, faith, community, love, and the challenges of navigating a changing world. Through unforgettable music, humor, and heartfelt storytelling, the musical remains one of the most beloved and frequently performed productions in theatre history.

Featuring iconic songs including “Tradition,” “Matchmaker,” “If I Were a Rich Man,” “Sunrise, Sunset,” and “To Life,” audiences will experience a moving story that celebrates family, perseverance, and the enduring strength of community.

In addition to regular performances, Jackson Theatre Guild will host a special Preview Party on Thursday, July 9 at 6:30 PM. Inspired by Motel and Tzeitel’s wedding celebration from the show, the evening will feature heavy hors d’oeuvres catered by Flatiron Grille, an open beer and wine  bar, a featured themed mocktail, live music from a member of The Jackson Symphony, photo opportunities with cast members, candlelit village-inspired ambiance, and a dessert and coffee reception during intermission. Preview Party admission includes a ticket to that evening’s preview performance.
