JPD investigating shooting near North Park

Posted

The Jackson Police Department is investigating a shooting near North Park that happened as soccer practice was ending for the Jackson Soccer Club.

JPD says the shooting happened at the intersection of Rockwell Rd. and Reynolds Dr., after a fight and gunfire between juveniles at North Park. The Jackson Police Department says a female juvenile was shot and has non-life-threatening injuries. The victim does not appear to be associated with the soccer club. So far, the victims in the situation have been uncooperative.

"Jackson Soccer Club will be suspending all use of North Park until further notice. We are working to make other arrangements to ensure the safety of Jackson Soccer Club Family," the Jackson Soccer Club said in a Facebook Post.

Since the victims in the incident are not cooperating with police, JPD is asking for doorbell camera footage from the area. If you have information about this incident, you are asked to call the Jackson Police Department at (731) 425-8400 or Crime Stoppers at (731) 424-8477.
