Jackson Police asking for assistance in New Year's shooting death investigation

The Jackson Police Dept. is investigating an early New Year’s morning shooting death. According to a statement released Tuesday, it happened on the north end of Fair Acres Cove around 1:30 a.m. on January 1. 

19-year-old Shmyia Lashea Manley, of Jackson, died in the shooting.

Jackson Police say no one has been arrested so far, and the investigation is ongoing. If you or anyone you know has information regarding the death of Shmyia Manley, you are asked to call the JPD Major Crimes division at 731-425-8400 or Crime Stoppers at 731-424-8477.
