The City of Jackson welcomed International students to the City Thursday during a reception at City Hall.
More than 30 students from Union University, Lane College, Freed-Hardeman University, Jackson State Community College, the University of Memphis – Lambuth, Dyersburg State Community College, and University School of Jackson attended the event.
“WE hope that you developed and will continue to develop lasting connections with the people of Jackson and West Tennessee,” Mayor Scott Conger said during the welcome, “The City of Jackson is excited to host this reception to welcome you to our city, and bring together community partners and international representatives from universities, colleges, and high schools across West Tennessee.”
Students in attendance were from Argentina, Australia, The Bahamas, Brazil, Canada, China, Costa Rica, Croatia, Egypt, England, France, Germany, Ghana, Mexico, Nigeria, and Serbia.
The students also received pins with the City of Jackson flag.
