Heaven’s Cradle 5k next week

Heaven's Cradle is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing support and care for families who have experienced the loss of a child.

Their mission is to create a compassionate environment where grieving parents can find solace and healing. 

One effort of theirs in recent years include a neonatal bereavement room at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital to provide that compassionate environment for them.

Heaven’s Cradle is hosting a fundraiser on June 1 with the annual Heaven’s Cradle 5k and one-mile run.

The event itself is next Thursday at 6 p.m. at the West Tennessee Farmer’s Market on Shannon Street in Downtown Jackson.

Pre-registration fee is $35. Day of registration is $40 with all proceeds going toward Heaven’s Cradle projects including keeping the bereavement room at the hospital fully stocked with supplies and funding other projects.

The run will run down Lafayette Street, Airways Boulevard, turn onto Lambuth Boulevard and then return to the Farmer’s Market.

Pre-registration includes a $10 dinner voucher at Baker Bros. BBQ, where they will be serving dinner at the end of the race at the Farmer’s Market.

The Kimberlie Helton Band will be performing as entertainment at the event with awards being given about 7:45 that evening.
