Rising country music star Ella Langley made a stop in Jackson to perform a show at Hub City Brewing on Oct. 12.
The highly-anticipated concert was Hub City Brewing’s first general admission show to sell out, with tickets being swept up by Langley’s eager fanbase months in advance.
The night proved to be a hit with the crowd, with audience members singing along as Langley and her band performed songs from her discography.
A native of Hope Hull, Alabama, Langley gained significant traction in the country music scene this year following the release of her full-length album Hungover.
The singer most notably drew attention from audiences when she released her promotional single “You Look Like You Love Me” in collaboration with Riley Green.
The song quickly gained popularity on social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram and was eventually featured on the Billboard Hot 100 list.
Upon opening her Jackson show, Langley expressed her excitement about performing in Jackson to the audience and shared that it was her first time visiting the city.
Joining Langley was opening act Meg McRee, a fellow country artist and friend of Langley. McRee also joined Langley on stage later in the show to perform as a duo.
Hub City Brewing owner Jerry Corley spoke on the event and how it marked a milestone for the brewery.
“We have done close to 80 shows over the past six years…local artists like LOLO are sellout shows for RIFA every year, this was our first real ‘sellout’ show for a general admission standing room only show,” Corley said.
The concert brought quite the crowd to Hub City Brewing, with fans of Langley lined up outside the venue long before the doors opened. Guests arrived hours early to snag the spots closest to the stage and enjoy a beer from Hub City Brewing’s craft beer menu before the concert began.
“Having artists like Ella Langley from outside of our area brings in people from surrounding states, many who have never been to Jackson…while they [tourists] are here, they obviously spend money on hotels, food, and shopping,” Corley said on the crowd that the concert brought to Jackson and the impacts that concerts like these have on local tourism.
Corley expressed his gratitude for the support of the brewery and conveyed how much Hub City Brewing enjoys hosting events like these.
“We love doing these shows and appreciate all the support Jackson gives us,” Corley said.
