Different options to follow Friday night football

When high school football kicks off in Madison County this fall, fans who can’t make it to every game can still keep up with the action through different methods.

Forever Communications and News Talk West Tennessee will both broadcast Jackson-Madison County Schools games each week.

Forever Communications released their game schedule this past week.

They will get Jackson Central-Merry at Liberty in Week 1, followed by JCM at South Side in Week 2. They’ll be back at South Side the next week for Liberty’s game there, and then back to Liberty to see the Crusaders host Westview in Week 4. They get their first look at North Side in Week 5 when they host Hardin County, and then they travel to South Side to watch the Hawks take on Lexington. North Side at JCM is the Week 7 game, and the Civil War between North Side and South Side will be in Week 8. The schedule rounds out with McNairy Central at Liberty, followed by Hardin County at South Side and Chester County at North Side.

Those games will be heard on 97.7 FM and video will be available online at sports731.com.

News Talk West Tennessee, which can be heard on 96.5 FM, will have its own slate of JMCSS games that will also air on the station’s Facebook page.

Their season starts off with the North Side game at Crockett County, followed by JCM at South Side. They’ll catch JCM again the next week when the Cougars host Camden. They’ll travel with South Side to Crockett County in Week 4 and then get Milan’s game at JCM in Week 5. Week 6’s game will be Dyersburg at North Side, followed by North Side at JCM in Week 7 and their own broadcast of the Civil War in Week 8. They’ll be back at JCM in Week 9 for Peabody’s game there and then will be present for the South Gibson game at North Side in Week 10. They’ll actually get two games in Week 11 with Liberty’s game at Bolivar on that Thursday night (Oct. 26) and then South Side at South Gibson on that Friday.

Worthy Road Studios will stream all three private schools who play 11-man football on YouTube and Facebook Live, and each school – Jackson Christian, Trinity Christian and University School of Jackson – will have their own dedicated broadcast team. In addition to all of that, WNWS-FM 101.5 will have a show called The Red Zone in which sports director Sea Bass will be in studio each week with reporter Emily Pennington, and they’ll be keeping track of at least five games being streamed including the three private schools and doing a new type of scoreboard show throughout the evening in which they will check in with a game’s crew if they’re at a critical juncture or about to have a score.
