Here's a look at different events happening in Jackson and West Tennessee in the coming weeks.

Oct. 31

Chamber Member Breakfast

The Greater Jackson Chamber will introduce the newly established State Games of Tennessee, coming to Jackson in June 2025. The Chamber Breakfast happens at the Carl Grant Event Center on the campus of Union University. This event will bring athletes from across the state, shining a spotlight on our city’s growing reputation as a hub for sports and community engagement. Don’t miss this chance to hear how Jackson is preparing to host this prestigious event and what it means for our local community!  The event will also include a breakfast buffet for $25. You must be a member to attend this event. 

Nov. 1

Hub City Flea Market

The Hub City Flea Market is held the first weekend (Friday/Saturday/Sunday) of each month at the Jackson Fairgrounds (800 South Highland Avenue in Downtown Jackson). For more information, visit Jackson’s Hub City Flea Market Facebook page. 

First Friday Art Walk

Walk throughout Downtown Jackson and shop for local art on the first Friday of every month April - June and September - November. Participating businesses include: The Ned, Turntable Coffee Counter, Havner's Frame Shop, Sacred Adornments, East Main Salon, The 906, Smith Oddities and Idea Factory. Pictures with Santa

Santa Claus will be making an early appearance at Porchlight Realty (31A Wiley Parker Road) from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Children are invited to tell him what they want for Christmas and get their picture taken with him.

‘Hey, Hey, The Blues is Alright!’

The Jazz Foundation of West TN presents "Hey Hey, The Blues Is Alright" on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. at The Ned (314 East Main Street in Downtown Jackson). Terry Harmonica Bean is an American blues harmonicist, guitarist and songwriter. From Pontotoc, Mississippi, he has released seven albums since 2001 and appeared in three documentaries about the blues experience. A one man band. he plays both guitar and harmonica and has performed both nationally and internationally and is one of the more sought musicians in blues music today. Anthony Sherrod picked up his first guitar at age 4. Since then, he has learned to play bass, keyboard and drums. Being Big Jack Johnson's Godson and a student of the legendary Johnny Billington and Josh "Razorblade" Steward, he was taught stage presence and respect. Now an international blues touring artist, Anthony gives back to the Delta by teaching blues music at the Delta Blues Museum.

The Jackson Symphony’s ‘On the Fringe’

Indulge in an exhilarating trip back to the roaring 1920s with The Jackson Symphony. Don your fringe and pinstripes to enjoy music from Gershwin's "An American in Paris," Ravel's "Bolero," and Honegggar's "Pacific 231." In a stormy contrast, guest pianist, Artina McCain, performs a lively dance piece by composer Fred Onovwerosuoke, known affectionately as "Fred O," alongside Florence Price's "Piano Concerto in One Movement. All of this happens at the Carl Perkins Civic Center (400 South Highland Avenue in Downtown Jackson) beginning at 7:30 p.m.

The Color Purple - The Musical

The Ned presents The Color Purple - The Musical (2015 Broadway Revival Version) based upon a novel written by Alice Walker and the Warner Bros./Amblin Entertainment Motion Picture. Book by Marsha Norman. Music and lyrics by Brenda Russell, Allee Willis, and Stephen Bray. "The Color Purple" was produced on Broadway at the Broadway Theater by Oprah Winfrey, Scott Sanders, Roy Furman and Quincy Jones. The world premiere of THE COLOR PURPLE was produced by the Alliance Theatre, Atlanta, GA. Directed by Ebony Taylor. Performance begins at 7 p.m.



Nov. 8

Veterans’ recognition ceremony

The West Tennessee Veterans’ Coalition is sponsoring a service honoring veterans in West Tennessee at Englewood Baptist Church at 6:30 p.m. The guest speaker will be Sherry Pickering, from the Tennessee Department of Veterans’ Services. There will also be performances by the Innovation Choir.



Nov. 9

Veterans’ Day Parade

Join the West Tennessee Veterans’ Coalition for the 11th annual West TN Veterans’ Day Parade as those honor and celebrate those who serve our nation. Free to participate. Prize for the best decorated veteran vehicle. The parade starts at 11 a.m.



Charity Gala

The Charity Gala is the largest annual fundraiser hosted by the Community Foundation of West Tennessee. The event includes a cocktail reception, silent auction, seated dinner, award presentations, live music, and dancing. Proceeds from the event support critical community initiatives. The Charity Gala has come to be recognized as one of West Tennessee’s “most elegant events.” Join them as they “Light Up the Night” at the 33rd Annual Charity Gala, celebrating the arts, music, and culture of West Tennessee. Tables are available for $2,500 and individual tickets are $350. Nov. 14

Business After Hours

This is one of The Greater Jackson Chamber’s biggest networking events, and Ferguson Enterprises (1020 Highway 45 Bypass) is this month’s host. All are invited to come in, enjoy hors d’oeuvres, make contacts and network. The event is free to attend and no advance registration is needed.

Nov. 16

Tyler Braden concert

Artist Tyler Braden is performing on his Real Friends Tour, and it’s making a stop in Jackson at Hub City Brewing (250 W Main Street in Downtown Jackson) beginning at 7 p.m.
