Jackson City Fair
Get ready for five full days of fun at the Jackson City Fair. From carnival rides and fair food to live shows and a petting zoo, there’s something for everyone. Tethered hot-air balloon rides will be offered on Saturday and Sunday. Fair hours are 4-10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 4-11 p.m. on Friday, noon until 11 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 10 p.m. on Sunday. Admission, ride wristbands, and hot-air balloon ride tickets are available at www.jacksoncityfair.com. The fair will be at Rockabillys Stadium.
Hadestown: Teen Edition
The Ned presents Hadestown: Teen Edition. This folk opera delivers a deeply resonant and defiantly hopeful theatrical experience. Following two intertwining love stories – that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of immortal King Hades and Lady Persephone – Hadestown invites audiences on a hell-raising journey to the underworld and back. Inspired by traditions of classic American folk music and vintage New Orleans jazz, Mitchell’s beguiling sung-through musical pits industry against nature, doubt against faith, and fear against love. All performances are at The Ned, and their start times are 7 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday with matinee performances at 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Hub City Hubaloo
The Hub City Hullabaloo is rolling into Jackson for the first time ever. Jackson sets the stage for a high-octane weekend of vintage drag racing and muscle car mayhem. Presented by Don Baskin Truck Sales, the Southeast Gassers Association brings its signature 4-speed-only, heads-up drag racing to Jackson Dragway, where roaring engines meet Rockabilly roots. Tickets are $20 on Friday and $25 on Saturday with children 10 and younger getting in for free. Weekend passes are also available for $35.
Delta Faucet Summer Concert Series at The AMP
Do you hear it? Only the music of Jackson and West Tennessee could connect Memphis’ Beale Street and Nashville’s Music Row. Join us as we celebrate the rich musical legacy of our region with the 2025 season of Jackson’s Award Winning music venue Jackson‘s Amphitheater at the Market (AMP). Located in the heart of Jackson behind the West Tennessee Farmers’ Market and within walking distance of the Jackson Walk, the AMP will host Bryan Moffitt for this performance. Music on the main stage will begin at 7:30 p.m. Blankets and lawn chairs are welcome at this family friendly event. Free parking is available throughout Downtown. Save a Rack
Don’t miss the Save a Rack: The Hunt For Pink October Cornhole Tournament. This family-friendly event supports women in West Tennessee battling breast cancer through Rack Pack. Enjoy live music, fun, prizes, and a sense of community spirit. Registration starts at 11 a.m., and bags fly at noon. Entry fee is $20. There will be a blind draw and double elimination. Dinner on the Hotel Lawn

Voices in the Vineyard

‘Sloppy Seconds’ album release show
Hope MacGregor is a Jackson-based singer-songwriter with an honest story to tell — and she can’t wait for you to hear it. Join Hope and friends for her Album Release Show on Aug. 30. MacGregor has made a name for herself from the Carolinas to Colorado as a soulful songwriter with a penchant for finding humor in life’s heartbreak and helping the lonely feel less alone — she writes songs that sound like home. The Jackson Symphony: Virtuoso Unveiled
The Jackson Symphony is kicking off their 65th Season with a new conductor, more professional orchestra and musical fireworks. Virtuoso Unveiled is a showcase of technical brilliance and swagger, featuring electrifying works by Stravinsky, Liszt, Ravel, and more. It’s bold, fast, fearless—and makes a statement: The Jackson Symphony is here to impress. Paris Landing Arts & Crafts Festival
The Paris Landing Arts and Crafts Festival returns to Paris Landing State Park, showcasing a variety of handcrafted goods, artisan products, and unique finds. Catfish Derby & Riverfest
The 2025 Catfish Derby & Riverfest returns to Savannah for a weekend packed with live music, community, and unforgettable performances. Hosted by Trevor Van, the celebration kicks off Friday, Sept. 12 at Tennessee Street Park with artists Will Barham, Hannah Dasher, and Trea Landon, with gates opening at 4 p.m. On Saturday, Sept. 13, the energy shifts to Main Street for a full day of music featuring Ty Moore, Lightwatch, Austin Bohannon, Them Dirty Roses, Pecos & The Rooftops, and headliner Joe Nichols. It all happens at The Ledge, which is on the corner of Highway 152 and Highway 70 in Spring Creek in east Madison County.
Wildflowers and Wetlands
Enjoy a stroll in Pinson Mounds State Archaeological Park while learning about the area’s rich natural and cultural history. Participants will pass the nation’s largest group of Native American mounds of the Middle Woodland period, view one of the only known occurrences of the endangered whorled sunflower (Helianthus verticillatus), and end overlooking the forested floodplain wetlands of the South Fork Forked Deer River. The walk will begin at the entrance to the park’s Interpretive Center and will end at the Nature Trail via sections of the Inner Mounds Loop and the Passion Flower Trail. The guided portion of the walk will be approximately 1 mile (i.e., 2 miles round trip back to the Interpretive Center), but participants will be free to stay and continue exploring the park once the guided walk ends. This walk involves a combination of shaded and unshaded paved pathways, unpaved trails, and boardwalk. Please wear sturdy footwear and sun protection, dress appropriately based on the local weather forecast, and bring water, snacks, and insect repellent if desired. Restrooms are located at the Interpretive Center. Tickets are $10 a person.
