Jackson Police, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Marshals Task Force of West Tennessee alerted the public Friday afternoon that the vehicle of Austin Drummond was found in Jackson Friday.
The car, a white 2016 Audi, was found at the dead end of MCO Road in Jackson.
According to statements from the TBI, the car appears as if Drummond has been living in the vehicle for a couple days.
The situation began Tuesday afternoon when an infant girl was found abandoned in a carseat in the front yard of a home just off Highway 412.
Dyer County Sheriff’s Office posted a message on social media asking for identification of the child’s parents.
Later in the day, the bodies of four people were found just north of Tiptonville in Lake County.
Two of the dead were the child’s parents, her father’s teenage brother and her maternal grandmother.
On Thursday, Drummond was identified as a suspect and a manhunt was on to find him, who has a history of violent crime as he spent nearly a decade in prison for aggravated robbery and served his sentence at the prison in Lake County.
He was indicted for drug charges and attempted first-degree murder while in prison. He’s been out on bond from those charges, according to a statement from 29th District Attorney General Danny Goodman Jr. during a press conference on Friday.
In this case, he’s charged with four counts of first degree murder, one count of aggravated kidnapping, four counts of felon in possession of a firearm, and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony.
JPD Assistant Chief Derick Tisdale spoke at the press conference.
“We have officers that are dedicated as task force officers with the U.S. Marshals, and we’ll cooperate with state and federal law enforcement officials to bring about the apprehension of this individual,” Tisdale said.
Tisdale, along with everyone who spoke at the press conference, encouraged everyone in the area to be aware of their surroundings and if they think they see Drummond to call 9-1-1 immediately and let law enforcement deal with him because he is considered armed and dangerous.
U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller said anyone listening to the press conference who may know Drummond’s whereabouts is encouraged to let the authorities know.
“At this point I don’t care where he is other than simply trying to apprehend him,” Miller said. “So if you have him or know where he is, give us a call and help us get him, and you’ll get your money.”
There’s currently a $15,000 reward offered for aid in the apprehension of Drummond since he’s on the TBI’s most wanted list.
Officials said the baby is safe with family members now, and the family is dealing with the loss of four loved ones.
